Well the VE Day celebrations in Cricklade got off to a cracking start when residents in the High Street decided to indulge in a game of "Pass the Scone". Whilst ensuring the requisite 2m distancing was adhered to a luxury scone with homemade Jam and clotted cream was passed door-to-door in a clear demonstration of British spirit.
Unfortunately it all came to and end at number 73 when an argument about whether a back-hand or fore-hand was the best method ended in disaster. As the scone hit the pavement there was silence before a a shout of "it's certainly clotted now" was heard from along the street.
Luckily the neighbourhood Cat was happy to tidy up the mess.
Another fine day in Cricklade.
