Organisers of the Annual Cricklade Duck Race are facing a storm of protest following a rule change to enforce the 2m Social Distancing rule on contestants. The change this week has caused more than a few ruffled feathers with one contestant claiming that the organisers were quackers. "This is surely a prime example of fowl play" said another plucky entrant.
The Cricklade Chronicle approached last years winner, Mary Duck Poppins (seen above winning last year), for comment and she was more than happy to oblige for this prestigious news outlet. "I am not really sure how they expect this to work" she said, "as it seems reasonably obvious that the duck that starts first will most likely win, especially as the river is no wider that 2m, so passing under this new rule is impossible".
Unfortunately we have not been able to get comment from the organisers however it is rumoured that the rule may be scrapped for fear local sponsorship would duck out.
